Ignoring Promotional emails today

Got no newsletters of interest to post about today, there may have been some, but I’ve just been too damned busy to bother reading them, that’s just how some days go.

when you spend all day in front of your PC working online it’s dangerously easy to lose half the day just reading email and checking out the latest new “must have” thing on offer, sometimes you need to be real hard and just ignore it all, if it’s something you really need, it’ll come around again..

So today I’ve got my sister here, my kids have been staying with her for a few days while they are on their “half term” holiday, and she brought them around tonight to stay with me for the weekend, so we’ve just had a big roast chicken dinner and now I’m going to soend some time helping her to get to grips with her blog.

I set the blog up for her a while back but she’s got a “normal” (kind of) hob, working with horses, so she’s not really a web head and she’s still on the steep part of the learning curse, although it seems introducing her to facebook has helped a lot, she’s suddenly understanding stuff that would have made her eyes glaze over a month ago.

She’s even just had her first lesson on the importance of keywords for ranking and being found in the search engine results and “got it”!
:)

So the next step is to teach her how to make posts on her blog, but I’m also going to help her get her blog set up on Technorati, MyBlogLog and BlogCatalog.

If she copes with that and we’re not too drunk, we might even have a play with Twitter..

I guess I’d better claim this blog on Technorati while I’m at it..
