Hi there old chap, i must agree with the young fellow commenting about persistance of email, specially about the individual in this case, i dont understand why one must be so eager to the point were it becomes very annoying and it stinks, i mean really are those the actions of a proffesional and of a marketer claming to have made millions. I am sorry for being judgemental but it just dose'nt compute. We should all follow your example, you dont want to drive people to a point were they will unsubscribe but retain them. ( Example. ) I might receive emails from you but 1once or maybe twice a week and im more than happy and eager to read because i know that it can be something your giving freely and /or of quality content, rather than just knowing that someone wants to make money off me by begging and pleading trying to knock my door down!

This is a fantastic method if you are going to jump in and buy that must have product. Wait till later that night or the next day, and you would be amazed at just how much you really did't need it at all. I use it all the time as I need to curb my spending :!:

Hi there Matt n' all. A lot of the posts I can relate to. Do you know which part of internet marketing you are interested in? ( I'm talking to the readers, obviously not you, Matt) See when you finally decide that say MLM is not for you, you will get rid of everything that comes into your email to do with that subject. And when you get constant emails from some guru selling you the latest piece of software to do SEO or the like and you have no idea what they are talking about...get rid of them! You have to crawl before you can walk. You have to know the basics first, so don't buy anything unless you know how to use it. And the only way I get 2000 emails is with a gmail one because I used a safelist, and get all their emails for the privilage of using the list.So I the log in select ALL messages and delete. (that,s why safe lists don't work..look what I just did, a thousand others probably do the same) I do stay loyal to people I have opted in to at giveaways, but only for awhile and only if they send stuff that interests me. Once I decided to unsubscribe and when I hit the link, up came 6 lists of the same person that I was on! So now, I am more choosey as to just what I get at giveaways. I am not knocking giveaways, they benefit us and the product giver, and I have heaps of wonderful products etc, that I have put on disc, off my harddrive, for later on if I need more info on something. So you just have to chose a" few good men" and keep listening to them and give the rest the flick. If you want to get back on someones list later, just look for another giveaway. One last bit of advice, to anyone that is just starting off: You will NOT make 2 or 3 thousand dollars a week on the internet by buying someones magic program, there IS no magic program,it is all hype, and if someone IS making that much online, then they have a product, a website and know how to drive traffic to their site. You have to work to make continuous money online and to build your reputation. If you do not have a reputation and a solid product, one that is valuable, then you have nothing. ....Gee, I felt better after that...Hope it helped someone, Good luck all.

Hi Paul,
yes, you can use outlook on a stand alone (not networked) pc.
I'm not going to claim outlook is the best solution for email, it'sprobably not, I just happen to be used to it after using it for the last decade or so...
:)
cheers

Hi Matt,

I used to use Outlook Express but became dissatisfied with it. Is it possible to use Outlook if you're not on a network?

Regards Paul (Grampa Starling)

Hi Michelle,
yup, Tim's ideas are great in principle, but putting them in to practice can prove to be difficult.
cheers,

Hi Scott,
I believe having a "swipe file" originally comes from the direct mail market, as copywriters would use them for learning what works with salesletters, but it doesn't matter where the idea came from, it works as it's a great way of learning!
:)
I also like to do blog posts like this to get feedback whenever I can, as it helps me to make sureI'm on the right track with what I'm doing, so I'm glad you like it!
cheers,
Matt

Hi Paul,
I've not used google bookmarks, so I'm not familiar with how it works.
I use Outlook for my emails, so I download everything locally, even from my gmail account, as I like to be able to back it all up on a regular basis.
cheers,
Matt
